Arts Strategy sought

PRINCE GEORGE – What started as an update on the Playhouse soon turned into a discussion around an Arts strategy during the most recent Council meeting. The report has been in existence for some time, though it has never come to Council. That fact was brought up by several Councillors, including Councillor Cori Ramsay.

“I would like to see it before the end of the year,” she says. “We are going to be going into the budget cycle come January. There are really important decisions coming up and I want to have as much information as possible.”

When asked about the release of the strategy, City staff suggested it be rolled out in conjunction with an arena needs assessment, an idea she and fellow Councillor Kyle Sampson quickly dismissed, saying so much time, attention and money is spent by the City of sports and recreations already.
