Little Prince to make Thanksgiving return. Maybe.

PRINCE GEORGE – “We’re really excited to see it out. It’s such a great thing to hear the little toot toot in the park, right?”

That is Lisa Connor, the COO for Exploration Place and the “it” she is referring to is the Little Prince, North America’s only 24-inch gauge, wood-fired steam engine and it has come out of its Quonset house and into the park for the first time since COVID began.

Some new engineers were being “trained” (pun intended) on the train, which may just see some action on Thanksgiving.

“We’re hoping to be open on the Thanksgiving long weekend,” says Connor. “We’ll make a final decision next Thursday. As long as we feel we can have COVID-19 protocols in place and that everybody’s ready to go.”
