fundraising for a local farmer
PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George is once again coming together to support a local farmer who had his leg amputated over the summer.
John Ryser and his family settled here in the early 1900’s harvesting many pieces of land around Prince George with the most current plot out in Red Rock, where the 89-year-old, still farms to this day. John has been active in the agricultural community as one of the founding members of the Prince George Farmers’ Market and has been delivering seed potatoes to Art Knapps for 50 years.
On June 25, at the beginning of the heatwave, John was determined to fix a damaged tire on his tractor. Unfortunately, he lost his footing and the tire fell on top of him, pinning him overnight.
