Trustees seek January byelection

PRINCE GEORGE – Following the resignation of the Chair and Vice-Chair of the SD57 Board of Education, a byelection is needed to fill the two seats left vacant by now departed Trent Derrick and Shuirose Valimohamed.
Due to the timing, a byelection would need to be held between Christmas and New Years Day, although an application has been submitted to postpone that date until early January.
On Monday night, trustees passed a motion to name Darleen Patterson as Chief Election Officer and Sharon Cairns Deputy Chief Election Officer.
The nomination period begins November 10th.
