Rough road cause concern

PRINCE GEORGE – The city of Prince George regularly inspects and fixes those roads that need attention.

One concerned resident says the city has overlooked a section of 17th avenue which has not been up to par.

Kevin Beatty says that each time drivers pass through the ripped-up roadway, there is a growing risk for damage to their cars.

Beatty would like the city to keep an eye on roads, especially those dug up by construction work and force whoever dug them up to maintain the streets to a drivable standard until it can be repaved.

City Councillor Terri McConnachie says that if residents have an issue with the city road, they are encouraged to call the city at 311.

The city maintains over 780 kilometres of roads, and each year they spend around 5 million on road maintenance.
