Prince George Hospice Society announces name change

PRINCE GEORGE—The Prince George Hospice Society is making a big change to its name.

The society will now go by the name Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society to better reflect their services. The announcement was made on Thursday.

The name was changed because of the palliative services the society has been doing in the last few years. The change also better aligns with other associations in the country.

The Rotary Hospice House will still keep its original name.

“What’s happened over the last five years is that we’ve really increased the reach that we’ve done in the community and supporting people early in their journey. So they’re not necessarily at end-of-life, they’re more palliative. They need that support, their family is needing that support and we really wanted to have our name recognize all of that work that we do,” said .Donna Flood, Executive Director for Prince George Hospice Palliative Care Society.
