Trial dates for Ed John to be set next week

PRINCE GEORGE — The decision on trial dates for First Nations leader and former politician Ed John will be set next Monday.

John has been ordered to stand trial on all four sex charges against him dating back to the 1970s.

John, a lawyer and hereditary chief, was appointed to the B.C. cabinet and served as minister for children and families in the NDP government between November 2000 and June 2001.

The trial will take place at Prince George Supreme Court.
