Westcoast Olefins pulls out of Polyethylene Project, still going ahead with Pineview plant

PRINCE GEORGE – A controversial project proposed by Westcoast Olefins (WCL) has been canceled.

Ken James CEO of WCL says the Polyethylene Plant originally slated for the BCR Industrial Site will not go ahead.

James did confirm plans are still in place for the NGL Extraction Plant proposed for agricultural land in Pineview.

The 5.6 billion dollar Polyethylene Plant will not go forward following serious concerns from the environmental law department at the University of Victoria, and opposition from local first nations.
