PRINCE GEORGE – An update to a story we brought you earlier this month. A local man teamed you with Swollen Members, Member Madchild, and created a hip-hop song about the struggles he held in life.

Chris Vigue is born and raised here in Prince George and led a troubled life for many years. He has since turned his life around and has become a mentor and supporter for those who may have drug and alcohol addiction issues.

In his life travels he became friends with the Canadian hip-hop group Swollen Members, especially lead vocalist Madchild. Chris shared his past with Madchild, to which he created a song about it. That song launched on October 15 and hit the ground running.

Since its launch, it has had close to 400,000 views and donations from as far away as the Czech Republic. Most recently, Spirit of the North received a one-thousand-dollar donation.

Judy Neiser, who is the C.E.O. for Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation tells CKPG, she was blown away by the support.

“Spirit of the North is so fortunate [that] so many third-party events and, we love it when endorsing the work that’s done through us,” explained Judy Neiser. “I have to say that until I actually saw what this was all about, I had no idea that it would blossom the way it has been. It’s really exciting.”
