PRINCE GEORGE – Prince George has slowly become a hub for many things including filmmaking. PG is no stranger to film production. Movies like Double Jeopardy starring Ashley Judd and Tommy Lee Jones were filmed here in 1999, Dreamcatcher starring Morgan Freemen was filmed here in 2003, and more recently, A Great North Christmas, which was filmed in 2021 starring Laura Mitchell and Jay Hindle.

Now, a new web series has been developed called “Small Town Long Shots” to provide opportunities for fresh perspectives on how to attract production companies to our town.

Small Town Long Shots is the brainchild of Barker Street Cinema’s, Norm Coyne who collaborated with his long-time friends James Douglas and Leah Coghlan who produce the series. He and his crew, interview some big names along with some homegrown talent, asking questions and learning how to entice bigger productions to smaller towns.

There are five episodes and each will air every couple of weeks and the first one will air in December. You can catch every episode for free on the Barker Street Cinema YouTube page.
