City to pursue emergency response centre
PRINCE GEORGE – The wildfires of recent years has prompted Mayor and Council to look at establishing an emergency response and coordination centre in Prince George.
“What we’re talking about is the whole package of emergency services. When we have things like wildfire, floods, any natural disaster when we can provide service out of Prince George,” says Mayor Lyn Hall. “We’re central, we’re a large city, we have the capacity at the airport. So all of the pieces are in place.”
And the idea has caught the attention of the Province.
