BC sees drop in COVID-19 cases

BC reported the lowest number of COVID-19 cases in over a week as the province saw 338 new cases, 57 of which were found in the North.

Northern Health now makes up for 510 of the 3,568 active cases across the province. Of the active cases, 376 individuals are currently in hospital and 107 are in intensive care.

Some Northern communities continue to trail behind the provincial rate of vaccination. According to the BCCDC, 80% of eligible Prince George residents are fully vaccinated, and 87% are partially vaccinated. Meanwhile, 86.8% of eligible BC residents 12+ are fully vaccinated, and 90.7% are partially vaccinated.

One new death has been reported in BC, a Fraser Health resident, as BC’s death toll has reached 2,274.
