PRINCE GEORGE- The Prince George-Peace River-Northern Rockies MP has been appointed to a new role. Bob Zimmer is now on the Standing Committee on Fisheries and Oceans.

“I am honoured to have been appointed by Opposition Leader Erin O’Toole to sit on this important committee. As Shadow Minister for Northern Affairs and Arctic Sovereignty; Canadian Northern Economic Development Agency,” he stated.

Zimmer adds he is looking forward to hearing from northern fishers so that he can be a strong voice for the northern region. He has also served as Co-Chair of the Parliamentary Outdoor Caucus for the past six years.

“I have long been an advocate for BC salmon and our angling community. I have met with many hard-working experts and have seen firsthand the positive impact Canada’s fisheries sector has on our coastal communities. I will continue to push for science-based decisions that affect this sector through the work of this committee,” he added.
