Cougars fall to Silvertips 6-1
PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Cougars continued their six-game U.S. road trip in Everett where they faced the top team in the Western Hockey League (WHL) Western Conference: the Silvertips.
A sharp angle shot by Hudson Thornton got past Silvertips goaltender Koen MacInnes to tie the game 1-1 before the first period ended, but the final 40 minutes showed why Everett is first in the west this season.
The Silvertips scored five unanswered goals and outshot the Cougars 33-11 en route to a 6-1 win.
The Cougars fell to 17-22-1-1 in 40 games, good for 36 points in 40 games. The good news is they’re still third in the B.C. Division and sixth in the WHL Western Conference.
