PRINCE GEORGE – The mountain bike riding community continues to grow in the region. To accommodate the growth, a group of mountain biker enthusiasts are on the path to blazing 40 kilometres of new trails on and around Tabor mountain.

Tabor Mountain is a 20-minute drive east of Prince George. The mountain will become the region’s newest downhill mountain park if everything goes as planned over the next few years.

In partnership with Tabor Mountain Recreation Society, the Association of Calendonia Trail Builders has marked out trails for all levels of riders. The area has enough room and elevation to expand down the road.

According to Tourism Prince George, north-central BC is becoming a popular place to ride.

Once the ground thaws, the volunteer trail builders will begin building.

The Association of Calendonia Trail Builders is looking for more volunteers to help carve out trails. Those interested in being part of the newest mountain bike park can contact the association through its Facebook page.
