Timberwolves add speed to WSOC lineup
PRINCE GEORGE – The University of Northern British Columbia Women’s Soccer program has looked to the Okanagan to add a dynamic winger to its attack, officially announcing the commitment of Kate Rattee to the roster for the 2022 Canada West season.
“I am super happy that I have achieved my goal of playing university soccer. It’s what I have been working towards. I am thankful for the opportunity to play here, because the team seems great. I’d say I have wanted to play university soccer since I started playing rep as an 11-year-old, so quite a long time.”
The Kamloops product was scouted by UNBC coach Neil Sedgwick, along with her Thompson Okanagan Football Club teammate Kambria Mellum, who was impressed by her skill and immense potential for growth. Rattee decided the Timberwolves program was the ideal place for her to continue her soccer journey and paid a visit to UNBC’s Prince George campus upon her commitment.
“We had a future teammate show us around the campus and it was really cool to see all the places I am going to be studying and learning, and with my teammates. I got to see where I am going to be playing soccer, and where I am going to be living.”
