PRINCE GEORGE – Northern B.C. continues to make its mark on the gridiron.

The BC Provincial Football Association announced the 46 athletes that will be representing the province July 22-28, 2022 in Sherwood Park, Alta for the Western Canada Showcase against Saskatchewan and Alberta. Of those, five will make the trip from Prince George.

Defensive lineman Gregg Croster, offensive lineman Asa Moran, lineman Tyrell Shanncappo, and defensive backs Ryder Stoughton and Grayson Turgeon will be representing the Kodiaks Academy.

The BCPFA also recently announced their U16 provincial team, which also showcases a number of Prince George football players.

Linebacker Peyton Briere, quarterback Jacob Eberle, defensive back Logan Johnson, runningback Dante Meyer, defensive lineman Zander Tabora, linebacker Aidan Smith, as well as quarterback Dillon Piddocke, all made the province’s team for their age group.

This marks the second time for the majority of these players representing the province, but they all continue to want to soak in this experience as best they can.

“It’s really cool. It’s a lot to take in,” said Logan Johnson.

“It feels really good because so many people think that I belong with the best of the best in BC, and that’s a really cool thought,” explained Xander Tabora.

The 40 athletes selected to the U16 Provincial team will represent BC July 1-7th, 2022 at the U16 Western Challenge in Langley, BC. All these athletes are born in the years 2007 and 2008 and represent the top football talent from across the province.
