PRINCE GEORGE—One man was arrested after police deployed a spike belt to disable his vehicle.

Just after 2:00 p.m. on Friday, August 5, 2022, RCMP attempted to pull over the driver of a black Honda Civic who was in possession of stolen license plates. The driver, 45-year-old Gordon Peltz initially evaded police, causing them to deploy a spike belt to disable the car. After a successful deployment Peltz continued to evade police on deflated tires.

“The vehicle became inoperable due to its condition. When stopped, the driver did not comply with police direction to exit the vehicle and was attempting to continue driving. A conducted energy weapon was deployed and the driver was arrested. Police identified the driver as 45-year-old, Prince George resident Gordon Peltz, who is known to police for similar offenses,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
