Thieves steal 13,000 litres of diesel from school district yard in 100 Mile House
100 MILE HOUSE, B.C. — RCMP are looking into a brazen fuel theft in 100 Mile House.
In a news release, Sgt. Brad McKinnon says Mounties were called to school district yard on Exeter Station Road in 100 Mile House Monday (Aug. 22).
There, Mounties found evidence that a fuel line had been directed through a fence and into a tank on the property, with the thieves taking about 13,000 litres of diesel. Because of that large amount, police believe the suspects would have employed a large truck mounted with a fuel storage tank.
Surveillance cameras captured an image of a suspected in the yard dressed in a raincoat and wearing a balaclava. It’s believed that person was in the yard between 11:00 p.m. on Saturday (Aug. 20) and 1:15 a.m. on Sunday.
