RCMP unveil new Victim Services vehicle

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George RCMP unveiled their new Victim Services vehicle today.

Police say it will improve the day-to-day operations of their Victim Services Unit “in many ways.”

“The Victim Services vehicle is used in a variety of ways by the unit. Not only do they use it to respond to requests for service at any time of the day or night, but the unit uses their vehicle as a mobile office, providing shelter and transportation for victims, witnesses and families when needed. It is a very valuable and necessary part of their daily operations within the unit,” states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

The purchase of the new vehicle was made possible by the donations of several organizations in Prince George.

“First and foremost, we would like to thank Prince George Community Foundations for their generous donation of $50,000, without which this project would have been much delayed. We would also like to thank Wood Wheaton GM Supercentre for their assistance in picking out a suitable vehicle that made best use of the grant money. A big thank you also goes to Sign Tek for their donation of the design and their shop time in creating the decaling,” says the RCMP.
