Former olympian honoured by Tourism Prince George

PRINCE GEORGE- To highlight local venues and honour special characters around the Prince George community Tourism Prince George has continued its Local Legends series.

The Local Legends production released earlier this week is the second instalment of the three tourism Prince George has planned. This time they have focused on former olympian Tony Fiala and the venue and tracks he learned on, The Caledonia Nordic Ski Club.

“It’s been a lot of fun, and the big part of it is bringing it back memories of where I started as a cross-country skier,” said Fiala.

Fiala continues to live and be active in the community to this day.

“My kids grew up in this club and they competed, you know, at provincial levels and national levels. And now they’re hoping to coach,” said Fiala.
