Spruce Kings unable to score in 3-0 loss to Vipers
PRINCE GEORGE — 24 hours after their win against the Vernon Vipers, the Prince George Spruce Kings came out on the other side of the outcome in Saturday’s contest (Mar.4), being shutout 3-0 as a result.
An early penalty by Prince George’s Charlie Banquier led to a powerplay goal by Luke Pakulak of the Vipers at the 1:23 mark of the first period to put Vernon up 1-0. Through the 15 total shots in the frame, the score would stand the same heading into the intermission.
In the second, Thomas Tien would find the back of the net for his sixth of the season at 15:10 to put the Vipers up 2-0. Reagan Milburn would fire a goal for the Vipers as well on the powerplay in the third period as the Spruce Kings were unable to find the back of the net. Ethan David of the Vipers stopped all 27 shots en route to the win.
The Spruce Kings will begin a two game road trip next week when they face the West Kelowna Warriors on Friday (Mar.10). Puck drop is scheduled for 7 p.m.
