UBC expands occupational therapy to UNBC
PRINCE GEORGE – In partnership with UNBC, UBC will graduate 16 students with a Master’s in Occupational therapy in Fall 2024. Occupational therapists are in short supply around the province.
In 2024, 16 students will be part of the first OT graduation group in Northern B.C. An Occupational therapist plays an essential role on a healthcare team.
“ Somebody with stroke may have difficulty feeding themselves. The occupational therapist works to help the person feed themselves. So it could be adapting the fork, adapting the spoon or adapting their position to the food.”
