Volunteers playing critical role in Spirit Day

PRINCE GEORGE- Thursday is Spirit Day in Prince George!

The annual fundraiser put on by the Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation has been in full swing since early Thursday morning.

Spirit Day is fueled by dozens and dozens of volunteers from throughout the community which plays a big part in Thursday’s festivities.

“They come in with passion, enthusiasm, great attitude,” said Sonick Kandola, a board member with Spirit of The North Healthcare Foundation. “They’ve come in with their phone lists and they’re all ready to go, reaching out to their friend’s businesses and asking for donations.”

One of those groups that were on the phones for Spirit Day was the Auxiliary of UHNBC. Who says they have been involved with Spirit for as long as they can remember.

“It’s very important to us that we help Spirit because they help the hospital, and the hospital helps Prince George,” said Lindy Steele, the president of the UHNBC auxiliary.

Spirit Day isn’t over yet either. The Volunteers and Spirit of the North will be at the prestige treasure cove hotel until 7 P.M Thursday.
