Teare Creek wildfire near McBride now ‘being held’
PRINCE GEORGE – The status of the Teare Creek wildfire (G30210) located near the boundaries of the community of McBride has been changed to being held by the BC Wildfire Service.
The term signifies the wildfire is not expected to grow any further under current conditions,.
According to the BCWS, all resources will be pulled off of the incident as of 6 pm on May 17. There may however still be small hot spots that continue to show signs of smoke going forward.
Previously drones equipped with infrared cameras were used over the fire to detect remaining hot-spots within the perimeter. Crews continued to action these hot-spots. Further danger tree assessment and falling led to detection of additional hot-spots in challenging deciduous tree stands in areas of the fire which have been since actioned by crews.
