PRINCE GEORGE — Summerfest will be going ahead Saturday at Veterans Plaza at City Hall.

After much consideration, organizers decided to forge ahead because the air quality index forecast is considered moderate – an improvement from the last few days.

“We understand that some of our participants and attendees may choose not to attend due to the conditions. For those that decide to join the festivities we recommend that everyone be mindful of how the smoke might affect your personal health situations,” reads a press release from organizers.

Summerfest will include food and an outdoor market. Summerfest will return to Veterans Plaza on Saturday, July 22.
