Local athlete returns home after representing Team Canada in Taekwondo

PRINCE GEORGE — Jenna Hamel has been doing the sport of Taekwondo for 12 years. All that hard work paid off as she recently was in Tampere Finland representing Team Canada at the ITF 2023 World Championships.

Hamel first got into the sport with her family at a young age. Going to Family Taekwondo here in Prince George.

After joining, the rest is history with Jenna excelling at the sport and getting to display her skills during tournaments around BC and eventually Canada and the world. Her mother Nicole is always there to support her including this most recent time in Finland. An experience she’ll never forget, especially seeing her daughter’s hard work pay off.
