Local Speedskating teens competing on home ice in B.C. Winter Games

PRINCE GEORGE— The Lhtako Quesnel B.C. Winter Games have begun and Blizzard skaters, Eli Bernard, Emily Walsh, and Megan Vansickle will have home ice advantage in Kin 1.

Eli is competing in the U14 male category, Emily is competing in the U14 female Category, and Megan is competing in the U16 female category. The U16 categories were added as the 2022 B.C. Winter games were cancelled due to the pandemic.

In total nine skaters are representing Zone 8 (Cariboo-North East) and is being guided by head coach Taryn Vansickle who coaches the PG Blizzards Speed Skating Club. Zone 8 will be competing against over 70 skaters from across the province.
