PRINCE GEORGE — PGDTA President Daryl Beauregard highlighted the need for more classroom supports during February’s school district board meeting.

Beauregard said that 1 in 5 teachers in School District 57 are uncertified and that there is a greater need for more supports in the classroom, especially as the population in British Columbia is growing.

With more students expected to be entering classrooms all across the district in the coming years, Beauregard said that the district is going to need to have more teachers, support staff, administrators and others to deal with the increasing number of students and that now is the time to get ahead.
