Small business fair promotes all things local
PRINCE GEORGE- The Roll-A-Dome was the home to some of Prince George’s locally run small businesses on Sunday for the fifth annual small business fair. The event gives businesses the opportunity to network and share what they have in a setting focused on one thing: all things local.
The fair has grown in each year with around 20 vendors at its inception to nearly 80 vendors at this year’s event. The small business fair focuses specifically on people who run their own business through direct sales and was started as a new way to get the public interested in their merchandise.
Blissful Bubbles Boutique is one of the vendors that truly does everything local. The two owners Corry Scott and Kim Gardner make half of what it is in their store that is bath or shower related by hand. The other half of the items in their shop are made by other local handmade businesses so they are buying, making and selling all locally owned and produced products.
The next small business fair will be held in the summer before a fall and holiday one later in the year as well.
