PRINCE GEORGE— Just for Laughs’ “Outstanding English Comedy Award” winner Laura Piccinin will take to the stage on August 27 with their autobiographical stand-up show, “LESBIHONEST”.

The show, hosted by Trinity United Church and the PG Pride Society, takes the audience on a gut-busting journey of her lifetime of coming outs. Spanning three decades of changes in LGBTQ+ sentiment, ex-religious Queer Laura grapples with the her identity as she finds a way to Pride.

“It’s an opportunity for us to gather as a PRIDE-full community and celebrate our identities, expressions, and orientations as human beings,” says Rev. Dr. Bob Fillier with Trinity United Church. “To share stories about coming out and the realities of our interconnected relationships. What better way to do that than with comedy!”

Opening the show is Prince George’s own Improv Shmimprov who will wow the crowd with comedic material created on the spot.

“Part stand-up part personal storytelling Piccinin stands behind a mic and tells us her coming out stories. Sharply observed slightly delivered—and finding laughter in the pain—for an entertaining and insightful out and proud ride”. –Cate McKim, Life with More Cowbell.

The show is suitable for ages 14 and up. Doors open at 7 p.m., show starts at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be purchased through www.KnoxCentre.ca.
