PRINCE GEORGE — Now’s the time to have your say on the 2025 budget.

Starting Wednesday (Sept.18), you can fill in “check-up surveys” on the City of Prince George’s website.

Residents are invited to share their level of satisfaction with various City services by participating in brief, online check-up surveys. Five short surveys are available, each focusing on different municipal services. Participants can choose to complete one or all, and responses will remain anonymous.

The surveys cover the following areas and each contains fewer than 10 questions:

  • Events and Recreation
  • Parks and Trails
  • Protective Services
  • Roads and Sidewalks
  • Snow Removal

The check-up surveys are open until November 8, 2024.

Citizen Budget Survey

In early October, the Citizen Budget survey will also open for residents. As in previous years, the “Citizen Budget” simulator and survey allows participants to explore City budget allocations across various municipal services. Ratepayers can enter their property tax assessment to see how their tax dollars are distributed and adjust service levels to understand how changes impact their tax bill.

Budget Open House – October 30, 2024

Participate in person on Wednesday, October 30, at the Prince George Conference and Civic Centre to have questions answered by City staff and Council and to share priorities for the 2025 budget. The event starts at 3:30 p.m., with information sharing, surveys, and connecting with council members. Presentations begin at 5:30 p.m. about the projected budget and city services.

The presentation will be livestreamed on the City’s YouTube channel and recorded for those unable to attend in person. Attendees will have the opportunity to learn more about different budget components, engage with councillors and senior staff, and provide feedback on key issues.

More details on the open house format will be shared in the coming weeks.

All the information around the 2025 budget consultation can be found at https://getinvolved.princegeorge.ca/

All community input will be presented to City Council ahead of budget deliberations which will begin in December 2024.
