TWolves drop pair of games against TRU WolfPack

KAMLOOPS — Viktoriia Filatova set another career-high for the UNBC Timberwolves but it was the TRU WolfPack who came away with the 73-61 win Saturday (Jan. 26) night in Kamloops.

The WolfPack snapped a lengthy losing streak with their first win since Nov. 11, 2023 in their final home game of the 2024/25 Canada West season.

Filatova was 10-of-19 from the field, four of which were three-pointers, while Sveta Boykova added 12 points and nine rebounds for the 4-10 TWolves as they came away with the weekend split.

In men’s basketball action, the 1-13 Timberwolves wrapped up their weekend with a 103-75 setback to the WolfPack.

Evgeny Baukin (20) and Isaiah Bias (19) combined for 39 points, while Marcus Wilson (13) and Ben White (11) also added double figures for UNBC. Six WolfPack players hit double digits as TRU tallied a season-high points total.

Up next for the UNBC Timberwolves is a home double-header against the Fraser Valley Cascades at Brownridge Court. The men will tip off at noon on Friday, Jan. 31, while the women will play at 6:00 p.m..
