Cougars sweep Americans to end five-game home stand
PRINCE GEORGE — Riley Heidt wrote his name into the record books with a four-point night Saturday (Feb. 1) as the Prince George Cougars beat the Tri-City Americans 5-2 at CN Centre.
Three of Heidt’s points were assists meaning he tied Mark Morrison’s all-time franchise record of 235, dating back to the Cougars time in Victoria. Morrison suited up in 249 games for the Victoria Cougars between 1979 and 1983.
Heidt, who has played 261 games for the Cougars, gave Prince George the 2-1 lead at 3:55 of the second period. His 108th career WHL goal came just 46 seconds after Borya Valis tied things up on the power play.
