Theatre NorthWest Debuts new play this Thursday
PRINCE GEORGE— Theatre NorthWest will premiere Steel Magnolias by Robert Harling on Thursday, February 13.
“Step into the charming beauty salon of Turvy Jones in our poignant production of Steel Magnolias, where laughter and tears intertwine like the lives of the Southern women who frequent it,” explains Theatre NorthWest in a release. “Set against the backdrop of a small Louisiana town, this timeless play unfolds the enduring friendships and resilient spirits of a close-knit group of women. With wit, wisdom, and a healthy helping of Southern charm, Steel Magnolias promises an emotional journey that will leave you both touched and inspired.”
Theatre NorthWest does warn that the play will feature outdated language around mental health topics and body image. There will also be references to offensive and outdated racial stereotypes. Discussions of death and dying babies may trigger a reaction.
Tickets are on sale at theatrenorthwest.com. You can also get tickets at the Theatre NorthWest box office Monday to Thursday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
