Multiple firearms seized in Quesnel

QUESNEL — It was a busy morning for Quesnel RCMP.

Friday morning (June 6) at approximately 7:30 a.m., Mounties, with the assistance of North District Emergency Response Team, executed a search warrant for firearms in the 1800 block of West Fraser Road. Police say the road was shut down for a brief period of time to ensure public safety while police executed the warrant. The road has since been reopened.

Police seized eight firearms during the execution of the search warrant leading to the arrest of a 50-year-old man who is currently being held to appear before the courts.

Quesnel RCMP say the investigation is still ongoing and no further information is available for release at this time. Further information may be released as it becomes available.
