Traffic stop leads to weapons and fentanyl seizure
PRINCE GEORGE — A 33-year-old Penticton man is facing charges following an early morning traffic stop in Prince George.
Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass says it happened at around 2:30 a.m. this morning on Strathcona Avenue when an officer tried to pull over the vehicle after police observed “a Motor Vehicle Act” offence.
“The driver refused to stop for police and continued to the western end of the street,” he says. “The officer attempted to block the vehicle in at the end of the street, at which time the driver rammed the police car. The driver and the passenger were arrested shortly after without further incident. The police officer did not report any injuries.”
Douglass says a search of the vehicle found bear spray, knives and a small amount of what is believed to be fentanyl.
