PRINCE GEORGE – The most recent City Council meeting drew quite a crowd. Residents who live near Foreman Road were on hand to voice their displeasure about a new truck stop that will be built just of Highway 16.
The truck stop initial zoning application was previously approved, but a new rezoning application wants to use more of the property, causing concern for residents.
The application aims to increase the size of the 24 hour truck stop in an effort to allow trucks to turn around safely.
Residents of the area feel that the new facility will increase traffic at what is already a dangerous intersection. Other concerns were light and noise pollution, as well as damages to a pond on the land.
