PRINCE GEORGE – Air quality in Prince George is poor, as experts warn about the health risks associated with the ongoing presence of wildfire smoke. Fine particles emitted from wildfires can remain in the air, entering the lungs and bloodstream, where they can cause serious harm.
Health officials indicate that long-term exposure can heighten the risk of asthma, heart disease, and other chronic health issues, with vulnerable populations such as children and seniors being particularly at risk.
