Burns Lake ER closed until Saturday morning due to staffing challenges

BURNS LAKE — The emergency room at Lakes District Hospital in Burns Lake will be closed until 8 a.m. Saturday January 3 due to staffing challenges.

The closure began at 7 a.m. January 2 with people needing life-threatening emergency care being asked to call 9-1-1 for transport to the nearest available and appropriate facility.

For non-urgent care, Northern Health ask that patients contact their primary care provider to make an appointment.

Those without a family doctor or nurse practitioner can call the NH Virtual Primary & Community Care Clinic at 1-844-645-7811 (daily, 10 am to 10 pm) to access a family doctor or nurse practitioner: https://www.northernhealth.ca/…/medical…/virtual-clinic.
