PRINCE GEORGE — Dawson Seitz scored twice as the Prince George Cougars made it five wins in a row, following a 5-2 victory over the Vancouver Giants at CN Centre Saturday (Jan. 24) night.

Three of those wins have come against the Giants as Prince George outscored their B.C. opponents 17-5 in their recently concluded mini-series this week. PG won 5-1 in Langley Sunday and 7-2 at the CN Centre last night.

Kooper Gizowski, Cole Hajt, and Brock Souch also found the back of the net Saturday, while Alex Levshyn turned aside 16 of 18 shots to win his eighth game of the season.

Acquired from the Wenatchee Wild at the WHL trade deadline, Seitz scored both first period goals to put the Cougars up 2-0. Gizowski made it 3-0 on the power play early in the second before Jakob Oreskovic pulled one back for the Giants.

Hajt and Misha Volotovskii traded goals to make it 4-2 Cougars after two periods. Souch rounded out the scoring with a shorthanded empty net goal at 18:30.

Giants netminder Burke Hood allowed four goals on 38 shots in a losing effort for the 18-27-1-2 Giants, who sit 10th in the Western Conference. The 28-16-2-0 Cougars are in third place.

The Cats will aim for their sixth straight win when they visit the Kelowna Rockets on Friday (Jan. 30) at Prospera Place.
