Spruce Kings announce Mega 50/50 winner

PRINCE GEORGE — Richard Zolli is the winner of the Prince George Spruce Kings Mega 50/50 jackpot #1.

He takes home over $192,887.50. The draw was made today (Feb.20).

“Everything with our Show Home lottery goes to support the Prince George Spruce Kings hockey club in our hockey operating budget. When you look around the BCHL, we’re probably the ones who are on the road the most. We travel the farthest distances and we spend more nights in hotel than any other team in our league,” says Kyle Anderson, the team’s executive director of business operations and director of communications and broadcasting.

“It’s no secret, that costs are going up across the board, whether it be hotel nights or food or gas and, those types of things. So, this basically keeps our team afloat. If we weren’t having success with our home lottery, we would be struggling to put a team on the ice and and being able to treat them the way they deserve to be treated.”

The Spruce Kings are back on the ice tonight (Feb.20), when they host the Powell River Kings. Two dollars from every ticket will go to support the Tumbler Ridge Parent Advisory Council to support student wellness. The Spruce Kings will also donate their share of the 50/50 draw.

Puck drop is at 7 p.m. with the teams playing again tomorrow night at 6 p.m. The Spruce Kings enter the game with a 25-14-2-0 record, good for first place in the BCHL’s Coastal East division.
