Cougars blow out Broncos 6-2 to begin Prairie road stretch

Feb 21, 2026 | 8:32 AM

SWIFT CURRENT — The Prince George Cougars began their six-game Prairie road trip with a blowout.

After surrendering the opening goal, the Cougars responded with six unanswered goals, four of them in the second period, en route to a 6-2 win over the Swift Current Broncos.

Terik Parascak led the Cougars in scoring with two goals and two assists. The Cats peppered the Broncos with 50 shots on net.

“I really liked our game,” Carter Rigby, Cougars assistant coach says. “The guys were good. [Swift Current] get the first one there and then we rebound right away. I thought even on the power play, lots of chances. I liked our PK pressure, and I thought [Alex Levshyn] was great. All in all, happy with that one.”

The Cougars improve to 33-20-2-0 on the 2025-26 Western Hockey League (WHL) season, good for 68 points in 55 games. With 13 games remaining in their regular season schedule, the Cougars are second in the B.C. Division, trailing the Penticton Vees for first by 10 points, and third in the Western Conference.

Prince George is 14 points ahead of the ninth-place Victoria Royals.

Next up for the Cougars is a stop in Moose Jaw to take on the Warriors Saturday (Feb. 21) at 4:00 p.m. PT.
