Fraud talk

PRINCE GEORGE – If you are concerned about fraud, the Prince George RCMP is here to help.

This March, during National Fraud Prevention Month, local officers will be out in the community, including at coffee shops around the city, to talk with residents, especially seniors, about how to protect themselves from scams.

Cpl. Jennifer Cooper advises residents to keep an eye on their social media and website to learn more about how to identify fraud and how to keep yourself and your family safe from the latest scams and tricks.

“Additionally, we know from looking at our trends from the last year that seniors are often the hardest hit when it comes to financial loss due to fraud. To help address this, over the next few weeks we will be out at coffee shops around Prince George hosting fraud prevention information sessions. We invite any seniors who wish to know more about fraud and how to protect themselves to come and sit with us over a cup of tea (or coffee!) and chat about how they can stay safe from fraud.”
