Two Sunday morning fires cause thousands of dollars in damages

PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George Fire Rescue responded to two early morning fires on Sunday, March 15. 

The first happened at 2:20 a.m., when crews from three halls, responded to the 2200 block of Laurier Crescent. Crews found heavy flames and smoke coming from an RV and detached shop and quick actions of the responding crews knocked down the fire and prevented it from spreading to the residence. Total damage to vehicles, shop, and home is estimated at $50,000. The cause of this fire has not yet been determined and remains under investigation.

Later in the night at 3:15 a.m., crews from three halls responded to a commercial structure fire in the 2100 block of 6th Avenue. First arriving crews found smoke and flames around the entrance of a multi-unit residential occupancy. Crews knocked down the fire and prevented it from spreading to the interior of the property. Damage is estimated at $10,000. The cause of this fire has not yet been determined and remains under investigation.

There were no injuries reported in either fire.
