Prince George Kodiaks release statement on “organizational restructuring”

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Kodiaks have released a statement regarding internal changes and “organizational restructuring”.

The statement acknowledges that the Prince George Kodiaks Football Club has been “undergoing internal changes and organizational restructuring.”

“We recognize this process has raised many questions,” said Ryan Bellamy, interim general manager of the Kodiaks. “As we navigate our way forward, the incoming leadership aims to provide transparency with our communication. We appreciate the patience shown by our athletes, coaches, families, fans, and the broader community during this time.”

The statement says that “the next step in the Kodiaks’ transition will take place at the club’s annual general meeting.” The AGM will be held March 25, 2026, at 556 North Nechako Road beginning at 6 p.m. “Players, parents, fans, sponsors, members and community partners are encouraged to attend and participate in shaping the next chapter of Kodiaks football. Attendance at the AGM is open to everyone.”

The statement also addresses the decision to fire former head coach Jamie Boreham, saying “the club extends its sincere gratitude to Jamie Boreham for his contributions during his time with the Kodiaks. Boreham served the organization as both head coach and director of football operations, providing leadership on the field and overseeing a wide range of football programming throughout Prince George and Northern B.C.”

“We appreciate Jamie’s dedication to the athletes, the community, the development of the program, and we recognize the professionalism he demonstrated throughout this transition,” said Bellamy.

Addressing the organizational restructuring, the statement says:

“As the process unfolded and feedback was received from key partners, it became clear that change was necessary. Members of the previous executive and several board members subsequently chose to step aside, allowing for new leadership to guide the organization forward with a renewed vision aligned with the broader Kodiaks community.”

Looking ahead, the Kodiaks say they “remain committed to building a strong and sustainable football program that reflects the values of the Prince George community.”
