PRINCE GEORGE — A new Wendy’s restaurant has opened in Prince George, the first one to open in the city, since 1989.

The new location is at the intersection of Highway 97 and Austin Road beside the Hart Centre Mall. The restaurant is owned and operated by Family Fast Foods Ltd., a local franchise company founded by Pat and Brenda Bell. The Bell family and their partners have owned and operated Wendy’s restaurants in Prince George since 1988, adding a Williams Lake location in 2023.

“We are proud to continue investing in Prince George,” said Pat Bell, “Our family has always been part of the Wendy’s story in this community, and it is exciting to see that legacy continue with this new location.”

Operating Partner Todd Lewis emphasized the broader community impact of the opening: “Creating opportunities for local youth helps build confidence, responsibility, and skills they’ll carry with them throughout their lives. Having started my own career when Pat and Brenda first introduced Wendy’s to Prince George, I’ve seen firsthand how these early experiences can shape future paths. It’s incredibly rewarding to be part of that journey for the next generation in the Hart community.
