Structure fire on Ewert Street

PRINCE GEORGE — No one was injured in a structure fire late this morning in the 400-block of Ewert Street.

Crews from Prince George Fire Rescue arrived on scene shortly after 11 a.m. to find a fire on the exterior of the home.

The fire was extinguished quickly but crews remained on scene for several hours to ensure the fire did not extend into the roof line.

 The cause of the fire appears to have started from an improperly discarded cigarette. Damages are estimated at $50,000.
