Spruce Kings beat Rivermen to advance to 2nd round

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George Spruce Kings defeated the Langley Rivermen 4-1 tonight (April 14) in Game 7 of their first round series to advance to the second round of the playoffs before 1,017 fans at Kopar Memorial Arena.

Ryan Wachtel scored the game winner at the 7:43 mark of the third period. Mason Loewen, River Arnason, and Marcus Lougheed had the other Spruce Kings goals.

Prince George outshot Langley 39-25 with Colin Reay picking up the win in net.

The Spruce Kings will next meet the Chilliwack Chiefs in Round 2 starting this Friday night at Kopar Memorial Arena.
