Spruce Kings take 3-2 series lead over Chiefs
PRINCE GEORGE — A 4-3 victory over the Chilliwack Chiefs on Friday night (April 24) gave the Prince George Spruce Kings a 3-2 lead on their BCHL Playoff series.
The Chiefs’ Nico Grabas scored the opening goal just 49 seconds into the first period, but the Spruce Kings answered with a pair of goals from Defenseman Trent LeDrew and Left Winger Dominic Szczygiel.
The Spruce Kings maintained their one point lead through the rest of the game, with each team getting a goal in both the second and third periods.
The Chiefs took 32 shots on net throughout the game, with Spruce Kings goaltender Colin Reay blocking 29 of them, earning him second start of the game for his performance.
